Program Committee for OceanObs’29

The OceanObs’29 Program Committee provides scientific and strategic leadership for the conference. It is responsible for shaping the overall vision, defining scientific priorities and themes, and guiding community engagement to ensure OceanObs’29 reflects global diversity, scientific excellence, and long-term relevance.

Role and Purpose

The Program Committee is responsible for:

  • Articulating and stewarding the overall vision for OceanObs’29

  • Defining scientific priorities, themes, and cross-cutting topics

  • Guiding community engagement and inclusive participation

  • Ensuring continuity with the OceanObs series

Structure and Leadership

The Program Committee operates as an independent scientific and strategic body, supported by a Coordination Team and working closely with the International Advisory Committee, Sponsors Committee, and Local Organizing Committee.

Leadership is provided by Co-Chairs, with additional roles, including Vice-Chairs, thematic leads, and Early Career Ocean Professionals (ECOP) leads, contributing as needed. ECOP participation is integrated throughout the Committee to ensure early career perspectives are embedded in planning and outcomes.
