International Advisory Committee for OceanObs’29
The International Advisory Committee provides high-level strategic guidance to OceanObs’29. Its role is to offer perspective on the conference vision, emerging priorities, and alignment with global ocean observing efforts, while maintaining a broad, international view of scientific, operational, and societal needs.
Role and Focus
The International Advisory Committee supports OceanObs’29 by:
Advising on the overall vision and long-term direction of the conference
Providing insight on global priorities, trends, and emerging opportunities
Helping ensure balance across regions, sectors, and observing communities
Offering an external perspective to complement the work of the Program Committee
How the Committee Works
The International Advisory Committee is expected to meet on a semi-annual basis, with additional engagement as needed. Meetings focus on strategic reflection, guidance, and alignment rather than operational decisions.
