International Advisory Committee for OceanObs’29

The International Advisory Committee provides high-level strategic guidance to OceanObs’29. Its role is to offer perspective on the conference vision, emerging priorities, and alignment with global ocean observing efforts, while maintaining a broad, international view of scientific, operational, and societal needs.

Role and Focus

The International Advisory Committee supports OceanObs’29 by:

  • Advising on the overall vision and long-term direction of the conference

  • Providing insight on global priorities, trends, and emerging opportunities

  • Helping ensure balance across regions, sectors, and observing communities

  • Offering an external perspective to complement the work of the Program Committee

How the Committee Works

The International Advisory Committee is expected to meet on a semi-annual basis, with additional engagement as needed. Meetings focus on strategic reflection, guidance, and alignment rather than operational decisions.
